Mona Hatoum – Corps Étranger

Hatoum’s piece Corps Étranger, is a video of an endoscopy accompanied with sound recordings of the human body (heart, breathing etc).

The installation consists of cylindrical space with padded walls.
The viewer is invited to walk into the cylinder and watch Hatoum’s internal body, as the viewer enters this space they become the foreign body.

I find something unnerving about this piece, the colours, sound and not fully knowing what graphical image you will see next. However I find the concept fascinating.
